Univision 23 hosts a campaign entitled, Club de Libros, where students of all ages, from M-DCPS schools are featured. These students partake in bilingual reading with the segment’s education reporters, Maria Fernanda Lopez and Amanda Ramirez. The mini-segments are broadcast during the station’s morning show Noticias 23 Al Amanecer.

The Department of Mathematics and Science is providing information on M-DCPS’ portal launch of Algebra Nation 2.0. All 5th through 12th grade students and teachers will be able to access Algebra Nation through the M-DCPS student/employee portal effective as of October 15, 2013.

The Department of Food and Nutrition served locally-grown produce from Homesteadand the state of Floridato all Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Items include: corn, green beans, tomatoes, collard greens, and star fruits.
The Department of Food and Nutrition works with local celebrity chefs partnering to create new and exciting menu items.
Research has shown a link between school lunches and improved scores in standardized tests.
