Kindergarten Registration Now Open

A reminder to all parents that our Kindergarten registration is now open through Friday, May 29th! Don’t wait — Space is limited!! The first 10 incoming Kindergarten students to register, will receive a FREE bookbag with suppliesWe encourage you to share this information with friends and family.

  • For the 2015-2016 school year, Dante B. Fascell Elementary School will proudly offer the Extended Foreign Language (EFL) Spanish Program to students who meet course requirements, in grades K through 4. Incoming K students interested in participating in EFL are asked to contact the Registrar Ms. Lester at 305-380-1901 for more information.
  • Dante B. Fascell Elementary School offers full-time, Gifted classes, for students who qualify, beginning in grade 1 through grade 5.

2015 Title I Parent/Family Involvement Survey

Each year, Miami-Dade County Public Schools conducts a Title I Parent/Family Involvement Survey designed to provide the District with information on how well your child’s school is doing in supporting your involvement in your child’s education. The 2015 M-DCPS Title I Parent/Family Involvement Survey will be available online from May 11, 2015, to June 26, 2015. This Survey is open to all parents of children attending schools implementing the Title I Schoolwide Program. The online Survey is available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. Survey responses will be anonymous. Paper Surveys are available at your child’s school upon request. To complete the 2015 M-DCPS Title I Parent/Family Involvement Survey online, please click here. Your opinion is very important to us. Don’t miss this opportunity to inform the district with your input.

ESPAÑOL: La Administración de Título I de las Escuelas Públicas del Condado Miami-Dade (M-DCPS) realiza todos los años una encuesta sobre la participación de padres y familia (2015 M-DCPS Title I Parent/Family Involvement Survey). Esta encuesta tiene por objetivo proporcionar al distrito información acerca de que tan bien la escuela de su hijo le brinda apoyo para que usted participe en la educación de su hijo. La encuesta sobre la participación de padres y familia de Título I estará disponible por la Internet desde el 11 de mayo hasta el 26 de junio del 2015. Esta encuesta está abierta a todos los padres de niños que asisten a escuelas que implementan el Programa de Título I. La encuesta por Internet está disponible en inglés, español y haitiano criollo. Sus respuestas son anónimas. También puede llenar la encuesta en el formulario de papel que puede solicitar en la escuela de su hijo. UM Pediatric Mobile Clinic

The University of Miami Pediatric Mobile Clinic (UMPMC) has provided medical care to uninsured children in-need for nearly two decades. Services provided include well-visits, sports physicals, immunizations, management of chronic conditions, urgent care, mental health, and social work.

The UMPMC is scheduled to be in our community on the following dates at the locations listed below:

1. Friday, April 10th

Coming Fall 2015: Every Kid in a Park Initiative

 

 

Beginning September 2015, every fourth-grader in the nation will receive an “Every Kid in a Park” pass. The initiative calls on federal agencies to help get all children to visit and enjoy the outdoors and inspire a new generation of Americans to experience their country’s unrivaled public lands and waters.

Paperless Interim Progress Reports – Available NOW!

Miami-Dade County Public SchoolsPaperless1 is rolling out a paperless option for Progress Reports. In Gradebook (via your Parent Portal), South Region schools will now have the option to view their child’s Progress Report online by clicking on the “Miami-Dade Paperless Interim (Select Schools)” link.

Your child’s online progress report will be accessible beginning February 20th and will be available through the end of the grading period.

Services Available via The Institute for Child & Family Health

The Institute for Child and Family Health, Inc. is currently offering an array of services in schools, the community, and homes for children, adolescents and adults from ages 6 to 21 years.

  • Behavioral Counseling for:
    • Depression, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, disruptive behaviors, anger management, substance use, poor coping skills, poor impulse control, distractibility, and non-compliance with attendance, instruction, rules and regulations (6-21 years)
  • Case Management:
    • Linking services, doctor’s appointments, housing, shelter, food, clothing, physical needs, and other basic needs (6-17 years)
  • Psychiatric:
    • Assessment, medication management, consultation, etc. (6-17 years)
  • Psychological Testing:
    • Intellectual functioning, academic assessment, psycho-educational skills for daily living (6-17 years)
  • Grant Programs:
    • Empowerment, anger management groups, SNAP (Stop Now and Plan), and functional family therapy
